Poem Analysis of Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around Comes Around.

Justin Timberlake’s piece is a confessional song. The opening clearly tells the reader that the writer has information about the recent man the girl mentioned had moved to. The opening statement mocks the lady on her current choice and what the man had finally turned her into. Setting the ball rolling, Justin quickly recalls and mentions the sweet times, the promises and the entirety that he had offered to her.

Hey, girl, is he everything you wanted in a man?
You know I gave you the world
You had me in the palm of your hand
So why your love went away

There are various stylistic devices that are used by the song author with the intention to make the girl feel the pain he has felt and come to her senses. To start with, the title of the song “What Goes Around Comes Around” in revenge. The author intends to prick the lady with pain. It is an indication to the girl that all her current actions will one day be repaid to her, and that time has arrived. She had left Justin and jumped on to another man, but the later times seem worse. In his painting the recent picture of the girl, the author detailed how the girl feel lonely when the new man is away and obviously busy with other women.

This comes with the intention of correction of impacting change from the faults or the imperfections being addressed. In the end, the author asked the girl to reconsider her preferences and come back to the author. The author describes extreme sadness and misfortunes that had finally befallen the addressed, emphasizing that they are worth of thought and comparison. The reference line according to the author is the sweet times they had spent together. The purpose of satire in this piece is double-shift.
